Company intelligence / Profile preview
drugstore.com was a pioneering internet retailer specializing in health, beauty, wellness, and personal care products. Launched in 1999 with significant backing from Amazon, the company operated as a licensed online pharmacy and offered a vast catalog of over 17,000 brand-name items. It provided consumers with prescription refills, over-the-counter medications, and health information services through a user-friendly digital platform. The company was acquired by Walgreens in 2011 for approximately $409 million and was eventually shut down in 2016 as Walgreens integrated its digital operations into its own brand.
