Company intelligence / Profile preview
Diagnostic Systems Laboratories (DSL) was a leading global provider of specialized immunodiagnostic kits and reagents, primarily focused on the analysis of hormones and growth factors. Founded in 1981, the company established itself as a pioneer in the development of assays for Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) and other components of the somatotropic axis, which became gold standards in clinical research and diagnostics. Its product portfolio spanned various therapeutic areas, including endocrinology, reproductive medicine, and oncology, utilizing modalities such as ELISA and radioimmunoassay (RIA). In 2005, DSL was acquired by Beckman Coulter, significantly expanding the latter's menu of specialized diagnostic tests. Today, many of DSL's legacy assays continue to be utilized within the Danaher/Beckman Coulter diagnostic ecosystem.
