Company intelligence / Profile preview
DSP Merrill Lynch was a premier investment banking and wealth management firm based in India, formed as a joint venture between the Indian DSP Group and the American financial institution Merrill Lynch. The firm was a dominant force in the Indian capital markets, providing a wide range of services including corporate finance, M&A advisory, and institutional equities. Following Bank of America's acquisition of Merrill Lynch in 2008, the partnership was restructured, and the investment banking operations were eventually integrated into Bank of America's global platform. While the firm provided financial advisory and underwriting services to the healthcare and life sciences sectors, it is fundamentally a financial institution rather than a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Today, the legacy of the partnership exists through BofA Securities India and the independent DSP Investment Managers.
