DTIC-Dome

Dome Laboratories, often identified by its prominent oncology brand DTIC-Dome, was a pharmaceutical division of Miles Laboratories specializing in cancer and dermatological treatments. The company is most notable for the development and 1975 FDA approval of dacarbazine (DTIC), which became a foundational chemotherapy agent for metastatic melanoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. In 1978, Miles Laboratories and its Dome division were acquired by Bayer AG, leading to the integration of Dome's portfolio into Bayer's global pharmaceutical operations. For several decades, DTIC-Dome remained the standard of care and the only FDA-approved chemotherapy for metastatic melanoma.
