Overview
Dune Medical Devices developed the MarginProbe System, an FDA-approved intraoperative device that uses radiofrequency spectroscopy to detect cancer at the margins of excised breast tissue during lumpectomy. Clinical studies have shown up to a 79% reduction in re-excision rates for women undergoing breast-conserving surgery. The company also developed a Smart Biopsy device leveraging its RF technology for real-time soft tissue characterization, with support from EU Horizon 2020 grants. In April 2020, Dune was acquired by Dilon Technologies.
