Its commercial portfolio was anchored by significant anti-infective brands, including Maxipime and Azactam, which it marketed through a robust specialized sales force. In 2000, Dura was acquired by Elan Corporation in a deal valued at approximately $1.8 billion. Following the acquisition, its respiratory assets were later divested to King Pharmaceuticals in 2003.
