DxTech

DxTech (Diagnostic Technologies) was a San Diego-based biotechnology company that developed a proprietary, fully automated, sample-to-answer molecular diagnostic platform. The company's technology utilized microfluidics to perform rapid nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) at the point of care, significantly reducing the time required for complex molecular results. In 2014, DxTech was acquired by Quidel Corporation (now QuidelOrtho) for approximately $13 million. Following the acquisition, DxTech's core technology became the foundation for Quidel's Savanna platform, a high-multiplex molecular diagnostic system designed for decentralized clinical settings. The platform is currently used to detect a wide range of infectious diseases, including respiratory and gastrointestinal pathogens.
