Dynamic Microbials

Dynamic Microbials was an Australian biotechnology company specialized in the discovery of novel antimicrobial peptide drugs to combat multi-drug resistant bacteria. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Perth, the company leveraged advanced phage display technology to screen for peptides with high affinity for pathogens such as Acinetobacter baumannii. In November 2008, Dynamic Microbials was acquired by Phylogica (now PYC Therapeutics) in an all-scrip merger, allowing the parent company to integrate specialized antimicrobial discovery into its broader Phylomer peptide platform. During its operation, the company successfully identified several lead candidates that demonstrated in vitro growth inhibition of key 'superbugs.' Following the acquisition, its research programs were consolidated into the parent organization's pipeline. The legal entity remained a subsidiary until it was formally de-registered in 2017.
