Earl K. Long Medical Center

Earl K. Long Medical Center was a public teaching hospital located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was a key component of the LSU Health Care Services Division. Established in 1968, the facility served as a primary site for graduate medical education and provided essential healthcare services to the uninsured and underinsured populations of the region. The center offered a comprehensive range of services, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and obstetrics. In 2013, the hospital was closed as part of a state-wide transition to public-private partnerships. Its clinical services and residency programs were subsequently transitioned to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and other community-based LSU clinics.
