Company intelligence / Profile preview
East Falls Hospital System was a non-profit healthcare organization established in 2004 to maintain operations at the former Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP) Hospital in Philadelphia. Formed following Tenet Healthcare's decision to close the facility, the system was part of a state-brokered deal to preserve acute care services for the local community. Led by cardiologist Nancy Pickering, the organization took over the hospital's equipment and operations while the real estate was held by WMCH, Inc. Despite these efforts, the facility eventually transitioned away from acute care, and the site now houses various healthcare services, including skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. The organization is primarily known for its role in the complex legal and financial restructuring of one of Philadelphia's historic medical institutions.
