Company intelligence / Profile preview
East Houston Regional Medical Center was a 131-bed acute care hospital located in the North Shore area of Houston, Texas. As a member of the HCA Gulf Coast Division, the facility provided a wide range of healthcare services, including 24-hour emergency care, cardiology, maternity services, and various surgical specialties. For over 40 years, it served as a primary medical hub for the surrounding community. However, the hospital sustained catastrophic damage during Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, leading to its evacuation. Following an assessment of the extensive flood damage, HCA Healthcare made the decision to permanently close the facility in November 2017. Most of the hospital's staff and services were subsequently transitioned to other HCA-affiliated hospitals in the Greater Houston area.
