Eastern Isotopes

Eastern Isotopes was a U.S. radiopharmaceutical company focused on nuclear medicine products and PET radioisotopes, especially fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), for diagnostic imaging. The business supplied the nuclear medicine and PET community through a network of radiopharmacies and isotope production facilities, and also offered related operational and technical support services. Historically, Eastern Isotopes operated as a majority-owned subsidiary of IBA (Ion Beam Applications) and expanded its PET tracer footprint through acquisitions such as Pharmalogic. The Eastern Isotopes business and brand were later folded into IBA Molecular and subsequently rebranded under later corporate identities including Zevacor and SOFIE, so the original company name is no longer the active operating brand. Its core business was commercial manufacturing and distribution rather than development of a traditional therapeutic drug pipeline.
