Echo Healthcare Acquisition Corp. was a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) or "blank check" company formed in 2005 to target acquisitions within the healthcare industry. The company completed its initial public offering in March 2006, raising approximately $58 million to fund a business combination. In 2007, it successfully merged with XLNT Veterinary Care, a provider of companion animal veterinary services, and subsequently changed its name to Pet DRx Corporation. The combined entity focused on consolidating the veterinary hospital market before being acquired by VCA Antech in 2010.
