ECN Nuclear Foundation, primarily operating through its subsidiary NRG (Nuclear Research and consultancy Group), is a global leader in the production of medical isotopes and nuclear research. Based in Petten, Netherlands, the foundation operates the High Flux Reactor (HFR), which is responsible for producing approximately 30% of the world's supply of medical isotopes used in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. The organization plays a vital role in the radiopharmaceutical supply chain, providing essential isotopes such as Molybdenum-99, Lutetium-177, and Iodine-131 to pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Through its FIELD-LAB initiative, the foundation also collaborates on the development of new radiopharmaceuticals, focusing on targeted alpha and beta therapies for oncology. The foundation is currently overseeing the PALLAS project to construct a new reactor to ensure the long-term security of the global medical isotope supply.
