Ecraid Foundation

Ecraid (European Clinical Research Alliance for Infectious Diseases) is a European non-profit foundation that operates a vast, sustainable clinical research network dedicated to infectious diseases. Established as the successor to major EU-funded projects like COMBACTE and PREPARE, it provides a permanent infrastructure for rapid clinical research response to emerging public health threats. The organization manages a "warm-base" network of over 2,000 clinical sites and laboratories across more than 40 European countries, facilitating efficient Phase 2 through Phase 4 clinical trials. Ecraid offers comprehensive services including study design, site selection, and trial management to both academic and commercial sponsors. By maintaining active research sites during inter-pandemic periods, the foundation ensures high-quality data collection and the ability to scale rapidly during outbreaks.
