Edmonton Radiopharmaceutical Centre

The Edmonton Radiopharmaceutical Centre (ERC) is a specialized medical facility operated by Alberta Health Services (AHS) that focuses on the production, distribution, and development of radiopharmaceuticals. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the center utilizes advanced cyclotron technology at the Cross Cancer Institute and the University of Alberta to manufacture a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes. As a key component of the Radiopharmaceutical Services of Alberta (RSA) program, the ERC supplies over 20 imaging facilities across the province, supporting approximately 75,000 patients annually. Beyond routine production, the center is actively involved in clinical research, providing access to novel radiopharmaceuticals for oncology, neurology, and cardiology. Its capabilities include GMP-compliant fabrication, testing, and distribution of medical isotopes and essential cold kits.
