Egetis Therapeutics

Egetis Therapeutics is a Sweden-based rare disease pharmaceutical company focused on late-stage development and commercialization of treatments for serious orphan indications. Its lead product, Emcitate (tiratricol), was approved in the European Union in February 2025 as the first treatment for monocarboxylate transporter 8 (MCT8) deficiency and launched in Germany in May 2025, while the company is pursuing U.S. regulatory approval. Egetis also retains Aladote, a first-in-class small-molecule candidate intended to reduce acute liver injury associated with acetaminophen poisoning. The company was formed in 2020 after PledPharma acquired Rare Thyroid Therapeutics, combining the Emcitate and Aladote assets under the Egetis name. Egetis operates as a small, integrated orphan drug company with capabilities spanning clinical development, regulatory affairs, CMC, and commercialization through specialist regional partners.
