Company intelligence / Profile preview
Eirchem Pharma Services Limited was an Irish pharmaceutical contract manufacturing organization (CMO) based in Shannon, County Clare. The company was established in 2019 by Kieran O'Brien and Paul Hackett, the founders of Eirgen Pharma, in collaboration with former employees of Avara Shannon Pharmaceutical Services following that firm's liquidation. Supported by investor United Metals, Eirchem operated the Shannon manufacturing facility to fulfill existing customer contracts and maintain the global supply of critical active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), primarily isosorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate for cardiovascular conditions. The facility was a modern, FDA and EMA-approved plant with capabilities in complex synthetic chemistry and large-scale API production. Eirchem served as a strategic bridge to preserve the site's operations and jobs while a long-term buyer was sought, successfully completing its production commitments before ceasing operations in late 2020. The company was officially dissolved in June 2023.
