Phase 2- Indications
- Stretch marks, Acne scars, Wound repair
Company intelligence / Profile preview
Elastagen developed a proprietary platform using recombinant human tropoelastin—a biomaterial identical to the natural precursor of elastin—to create injectable products for aesthetic medicine and tissue/wound repair. The company demonstrated safety and efficacy in multiple clinical studies targeting acne scars, stretch marks, burns, chronic wounds, and general aesthetic improvement. Its technology was considered highly innovative within regenerative medicine. In early 2018 it was acquired by Allergan for an upfront payment of $95 million plus contingent payments; total deal value reported as over $350 million. This was one of the largest healthcare exits in Australian biotech history.
