Electro-Biology, Inc. (EBI) was a pioneering medical device company that specialized in pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) technology for orthopedic applications. The company developed non-invasive systems designed to stimulate bone growth and repair, particularly for treating non-union fractures and enhancing spinal fusion success rates. Its proprietary technology delivered specific electrical signals to the site of injury to trigger biological healing processes. EBI was a dominant player in the bone growth stimulation market before being acquired by Biomet in 1992.
