The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) is a non-profit standards development organization and accrediting body for the healthcare industry. Founded in 1993, the commission develops standard criteria and accredits organizations that exchange healthcare data, including clearinghouses, health information exchanges, and technology service providers. Its primary mission is to promote interoperability, privacy, and security standards within the healthcare ecosystem. In January 2023, EHNAC merged with DirectTrust to create a unified approach to healthcare communications and data exchange accreditation. The organization's programs help ensure that healthcare entities comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
