ElectroWire Medical

ElectroWire Medical is a medical device company focused on developing advanced transseptal access and device delivery technologies for interventional cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. Founded by structural interventional cardiologist Dr. Robert Leonardi, the company's flagship product is the LightningWire Transseptal Puncture System, which received FDA 510(k) clearance in July 2026. The system combines a novel electrosurgical guidewire with a dedicated activation cable to simplify transseptal puncture procedures, such as catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, left atrial appendage occlusion, and transcatheter mitral valve procedures. ElectroWire Medical operates its own cleanroom manufacturing facility in Lexington, South Carolina, where it designs, assembles, packages, and sterilizes its products.
