Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research center specializing in generating high-quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light for applications across materials science and life sciences. It provides state-of-the-art facilities enabling researchers from academia and industry worldwide to conduct advanced experiments at atomic/molecular resolution—including those relevant to drug discovery, diagnostics development, nanotechnology innovation, pharmaceutical formulation optimization, rare disease mechanisms analysis, virtual histology for biomedical imaging, assisted reproduction technologies improvement—and more. The center is currently undergoing significant upgrades ("Elettra 2.0") to further enhance its capabilities.
