Elixir Pharmatech is a South Korean biopharmaceutical company focused on developing next-generation therapeutics for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, with a primary focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Founded in 2021 as a laboratory startup from Hanyang University by Professor Dong Yun Lee, the company leverages advanced biopharmaceutical convergence technologies to design orally active treatments. Its core pipeline includes ELIXIR™, a synthetic small molecule and peptide-based therapeutic targeting High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) to inhibit inflammatory cascades mediated by TLR2, TLR4, and RAGE. Additionally, Elixir Pharmatech is pioneering platform technologies such as milk protein-based oral absorption systems, extracellular vesicle (EV) delivery, and self-breathing biomaterials (Raspiratoid) for tissue engineering and cell transplantation.
