Company intelligence / Profile preview
Elyson Pharmaceuticals was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing innovative therapies for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. The company was founded by a group of former executives from Amylin Pharmaceuticals, bringing significant expertise in the development of peptide-based drugs like GLP-1 receptor agonists. Its lead program, ELY002, was a sustained-release GLP-1 analog designed to treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and other metabolic conditions. Elyson aimed to address the high unmet medical need in heart failure by leveraging the cardioprotective properties of GLP-1. In March 2015, the company was acquired by PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals in an all-stock transaction. Following the acquisition, Elyson's assets were integrated into PhaseBio's pipeline to be combined with their proprietary Elastin-like Polypeptide (ELP) technology.
