Emblem Capital

Emblem was a Canadian biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of medical cannabis products and cannabinoid-based formulations. The company operated through three distinct divisions: Emblem Cannabis, a licensed producer of medical marijuana; Emblem Pharmaceutical, which focused on R&D of dose-controlled formulations; and GrowWise Health, an education and patient counseling service. Led by former executives from Purdue Pharma Canada, the pharmaceutical division aimed to bridge the gap between traditional medicine and medical cannabis through standardized delivery systems like oral sprays and capsules. Emblem was acquired by Aleafia Health in 2019 in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $173 million.
