Company intelligence / Profile preview
eMDs was a leading U.S.-based provider of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software solutions for physician practices. Founded by physicians in Austin, Texas in 1996, it developed award-winning EHR/EMR systems and revenue cycle management services used by thousands of practices across more than forty specialties. In January 2020, eMDs was acquired by CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. KGaA ("CompuGroup Medical" or "CGM"), a global leader in healthcare technology based in Germany. The acquisition expanded CGM’s North American presence and integrated the popular eMDs product suite—including Aprima EHR/PM, Medisoft, Lytec, ARIA Health Services RCM—into the broader CGM portfolio. As of April 2024 all former eMDs operations have been fully merged into CompuGroup Medical’s U.S. business under the cgm.com/us domain.
