Emergency Care Research Institute

ECRI provides evidence-based research, medical device testing, patient safety consulting, supply chain intelligence, and health technology assessments to improve the safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare globally. It operates the only independent medical device testing labs in North America and Asia Pacific. It has been designated as both an Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC) by AHRQ and a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) by HHS. Its PSO dataset contains over seven million safety events—the largest in the industry. The organization played a key role during COVID‑19 with its free resource center for healthcare professionals. In 2020 it affiliated with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), further expanding its reach in medication safety. No clinical results or drug pipeline exist.
