Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) was a leading physician-owned and led provider of emergency department management and staffing services in the United States. Founded in 1992, the company specialized in providing hospitals with outsourced clinical staffing, administrative support, and quality improvement initiatives for emergency rooms. EMP was recognized for its clinician-led governance model and its focus on patient satisfaction and clinical excellence. In 2015, EMP partnered with the private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe to form US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), effectively merging its operations into the new entity to create one of the largest acute care groups in the country.
