Emil Flachsmann was a Swiss-based company specializing in the development and manufacture of high-quality plant extracts and natural ingredients for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food industries. Founded in 1941, the company became well-known for its proprietary EFLA® line of standardized herbal extracts, which were used as active ingredients in various health products. The company's expertise spanned extraction technology, analytical chemistry, and the formulation of botanical active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). In 2003, Emil Flachsmann was acquired by Frutarom, which was subsequently acquired by International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 2018. Today, its legacy products and technologies are integrated into IFF's Health & Biosciences division.
