Encelle was a regenerative medicine company focused on the development of gelatin-based hydrogel matrices for tissue repair and wound healing. The company's core technology, Encelle Gel, is a sterile, injectable or topical matrix derived from processed gelatin designed to provide a scaffold for cellular infiltration and neo-vascularization. Encelle primarily targeted the treatment of chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, and reached Phase 3 clinical development. The technology aimed to accelerate the natural healing process by stabilizing the wound environment and promoting tissue regeneration. Beyond wound care, the company explored applications in cell delivery and tissue engineering. Although a pioneer in the use of gelatin-based scaffolds, the company is no longer active in the clinical development space.
