EndiCor was a medical device company that developed innovative catheter-based technologies for the treatment of vascular diseases. The company's flagship product, the X-Sizer Catheter System, was a mechanical thrombectomy device designed to remove blood clots from coronary and peripheral arteries. This technology was particularly effective in treating patients with high-thrombus-burden lesions, reducing the risk of distal embolization during interventional procedures. In July 2002, EndiCor was acquired by Medtronic for approximately $77 million in cash plus potential milestone payments. The acquisition allowed Medtronic to integrate specialized thrombectomy solutions into its broader vascular intervention portfolio.
