Historical: EndoArt developed the first telemetrically adjustable gastric band ("EASYBAND") approved and marketed in Europe from ~2005–2007. The FloWatch-PAB was also marketed for pediatric cardiac use. The company was acquired by Allergan in February 2007 for $97 million. Current Device: The "EndoArt" artificial endothelial layer, developed by EyeYon Medical (not directly related to the historical company), has shown promising results as a passive barrier to reduce corneal edema with no serious adverse events reported during first-in-human trials published March 2025. It received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation as of February 2020.
