EndoSonics

EndoSonics was a pioneering medical device company that specialized in the development and commercialization of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging and functional assessment technologies. Based in Rancho Cordova, California, the company's core products included high-resolution IVUS catheters and pressure-monitoring guide wires designed to assist clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular diseases. These technologies provided real-time, internal visualization of blood vessels, enabling more precise guidance during interventional procedures such as angioplasty and stenting. EndoSonics was a key player in the evolution of intravascular imaging before being acquired by Jomed in 2000, with its technology eventually forming the foundation of Volcano Corporation, which is now part of Philips.
