EndoVia Medical was a medical technology company focused on developing robotic-assisted systems for minimally invasive surgery. The company's primary product, the Lap-Proteus, was a computer-assisted robotic system designed to enhance a surgeon's control and precision during laparoscopic procedures. By utilizing a master-slave architecture, the system allowed surgeons to manipulate standard surgical instruments with greater dexterity. EndoVia Medical was acquired by Hansen Medical in 2005 to expand its capabilities in the surgical robotics market. The technology eventually became part of the broader robotic surgery ecosystem through subsequent acquisitions by Auris Health and Johnson & Johnson.
