Enterotech

Enterotech Limited was a pharmaceutical company based in Jersey, Channel Islands, that focused on developing targeted-release oral formulations of corticosteroids for gastrointestinal diseases. The company's lead candidate was Predocol, a targeted-release oral formulation of prednisolone metasulphobenzoate designed to deliver the drug directly to the colon to treat active ulcerative colitis while minimizing systemic side effects. Predocol progressed into Phase 3 clinical trials, demonstrating efficacy in reducing colonic inflammation with a favorable safety profile compared to conventional systemic steroids. Enterotech's technology and assets were closely associated with FlexPharm Limited and Alizyme, which licensed and further developed the colonic drug delivery technology under the name COLAL-PRED.
