Company intelligence / Profile preview
Entra Pharmaceuticals was a medical technology and specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development of miniaturized, wearable infusion systems for continuous subcutaneous drug delivery. The company's lead technology, the Entra Pump, was designed to deliver precise doses of medications such as insulin for diabetes and various agents for pain management. By utilizing microfluidic technology, Entra aimed to provide a more compact and cost-effective alternative to existing infusion pumps. In January 2013, Entra Pharmaceuticals was acquired by Insulet Corporation, the maker of the OmniPod Insulin Management System. The acquisition allowed Insulet to expand its intellectual property portfolio and further develop next-generation drug delivery devices.
