Envoy

Envoy Therapeutics was a privately held biotechnology drug discovery company focused on neurological and psychiatric diseases. The company built a cell type-specific discovery platform called bacTRAP, which was designed to identify proteins expressed in defined cell populations in vivo, especially in the brain. Envoy used this platform to generate novel CNS targets and to support a preclinical pipeline that included programs in Parkinson's disease and cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia. The company was founded around technology developed by scientific founders at The Rockefeller University. In November 2012, Envoy was acquired by Takeda, which cited both the bacTRAP platform and Envoy's preclinical CNS assets as key elements of the transaction.
