The company focused on discovering and developing novel therapeutic applications for low-dose erythropoietin (EPO). Its research primarily targeted the stimulation of endothelial progenitor cells to promote organ regeneration, improve wound healing, and slow the progression of end-organ damage. EPOPLUS advanced a low-dose Epoetin beta program into a Phase 2 clinical trial for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers before the company went into liquidation in late 2013.
