Escala Medical has developed and commercialized the first minimally invasive, incision-free device for the repair of pelvic organ prolapse. The procedure can be performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia within approximately ten to twenty minutes. The company's Mendit system has received FDA clearance and aims to shift POP treatment from hospital-based surgery to office-based procedures, improving accessibility and patient outcomes. Clinical results highlight rapid recovery ("back to normal in a day") and significant improvement in quality of life for women with POP.
