Company intelligence / Profile preview
Esperite is a life sciences company that was primarily active in the fields of regenerative and predictive medicine. The company operated through three main business units: Cryo-Save, which focused on umbilical cord blood and tissue banking; Genoma, which provided genetic testing and predictive medicine services; and The Cell Factory, an R&D arm dedicated to developing exosome-based therapies. At its peak, Esperite was one of the largest stem cell banks in Europe, managing a vast repository of biological samples. However, the company encountered significant financial instability and legal controversies, particularly concerning the management and transfer of stored samples. These issues led to the company's delisting from the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange and eventual bankruptcy proceedings. Despite its collapse, its R&D efforts in extracellular vesicles represented an early foray into advanced biologic modalities.
