Company intelligence / Profile preview
Over its history of more than a century, Eu Yan Sang has grown from a single shop providing herbal remedies to tin miners into one of Asia’s largest traditional Chinese medicine brands. It operates over 170–300 retail outlets and nearly 40 clinics across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and Australia. The company offers more than 300 proprietary products as well as over a thousand types of herbs. Clinical results in the Western sense are not typically published due to the nature of TCM products. In recent years it has modernized its product lines with capsules and ready-to-consume formats while maintaining strict quality control standards. In April–June 2024 it was acquired by Mitsui & Co. and Rohto Pharmaceutical for S$800 million (~US$594 million). The company also runs integrative clinics offering acupuncture and other therapies.
