Euro Proteins

Europroteins was a Spanish biotechnology company focused on the development of novel therapeutic proteins targeting the Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF) system. The company's lead candidate, EP-101, was a recombinant protein designed to act as a competitive antagonist of the IGF-1 receptor, a key driver in the progression and survival of various solid tumors. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Barcelona and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), Europroteins leveraged advanced protein engineering to create targeted biologics for oncology. While the company was active in the early 2010s and secured venture capital funding, it has since become inactive or ceased operations.
