Evans Vaccines

Evans Vaccines was a prominent British pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and large-scale manufacture of vaccines, particularly for influenza. Based in Speke, Liverpool, the company served as a critical supplier for the UK's National Health Service and international markets for decades. Originally part of Evans Medical and later the Medeva group, it was acquired by PowderJect Pharmaceuticals in 2000 for approximately £55 million. Through a series of subsequent corporate mergers involving Chiron Corporation and Novartis, the business was eventually integrated into CSL Seqirus in 2015. The Liverpool site established by Evans Vaccines remains one of the largest and most advanced influenza vaccine production facilities in Europe. The company's legacy is defined by its significant contributions to global immunization programs and pandemic preparedness.
