Evivrus

Evivrus was a biotechnology company established in 2008 as a planned spin-off of Enzon Pharmaceuticals' research and development business. The entity was designed to advance a pipeline of oncology therapeutics based on proprietary PEGylation and Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) platforms. Its lead program, PEG-SN38 (EZN-2208), was a PEGylated topoisomerase I inhibitor that entered Phase 2 clinical trials for metastatic colorectal cancer. Other key assets included LNA-based antisense oligonucleotides targeting HIF-1 alpha and Survivin. The spin-off was ultimately canceled in late 2008 as Enzon shifted its strategy toward a sale of its specialty business and a focus on its royalty portfolio.
