Company intelligence / Profile preview
Excelsyn was a UK-based pharmaceutical services organization that provided strategic management consulting, chemical development, and manufacturing services to the global life sciences industry. Founded in 2004 by Ian Shott, the company operated through three specialized divisions: Molecular Development, Engineering Technology, and Management Consulting. The consulting arm focused on helping biotech and pharma companies optimize their supply chains, manage technology transfers, and improve operational efficiency throughout the drug development lifecycle. In February 2010, the company was acquired by Albany Molecular Research Inc. (AMRI) for approximately $19 million. Following the acquisition, Excelsyn's capabilities and its Holywell facility were integrated into AMRI's global contract research and manufacturing platform, which is now known as Curia.
