Overview
Exsulin developed a peptide-based therapy (INGAP peptide) aimed at regenerating insulin-producing islets in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Phase II clinical trials showed statistically significant improvements in C-peptide levels and A1C reduction, suggesting restoration or preservation of endogenous insulin secretion. The company targeted both new-onset and established type 1 diabetes patients, with studies conducted at Mayo Clinic and McGill University. There have been no recent clinical updates since the early-to-mid 2010s.
