Overview
ExThera’s Seraph 100 Microbind Affinity Blood Filter has been used on over 1,000 patients since April 2020. It has demonstrated the ability to reduce both bacterial and viral loads in the bloodstream of critically ill patients with sepsis or COVID‑19. The device received CE mark approval in Europe and FDA Emergency Use Authorization during the pandemic. Early-stage clinical studies suggest potential utility in removing circulating tumor cells from blood samples of pancreatic cancer patients; a pivotal trial for sepsis treatment was initiated recently
