Eye Bank Association of America

The Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) is a non-profit organization that serves as the nationally recognized accrediting body for eye banks in the United States. Established in 1961, the association sets rigorous medical standards, provides professional certification for eye bank technicians, and advocates for policies that support corneal donation and transplantation. EBAA represents over 80 member eye banks that collectively provide tissue for more than 85,000 corneal transplants annually. The organization also funds research grants to advance the science of eye banking and ophthalmology, ensuring the safety and efficacy of ocular tissue for surgical use.
