Eye Care Foundation

The Eye Care Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness and visual impairment in developing countries. Formed in 2002 through the merger of Eyecare Worldwide and Mekong Eye Doctors, the foundation supports sustainable eye care projects across Southeast Asia and Africa. Its primary activities include training local ophthalmologists and ophthalmic nurses, providing essential medical equipment, and funding cataract surgeries and vision screenings. By building local infrastructure and integrating services into existing health systems, the foundation aims to provide high-quality eye care to underserved populations in countries such as Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Tanzania. Through its efforts, the organization has helped restore sight to hundreds of thousands of individuals, significantly improving their quality of life and economic independence.
